New Pattern Release: Power Sports Bra

Posted by Sharon Aguilar on

The Power Sports Bra has released! This sports bra is one that you are going to want to make over and over and will find yourself living in!

The pattern is packed full of options. Choose from a racerback, a racerback with a pocket, a strappy cross back, and a strappy U back.  The pattern also includes the option for adjustable straps and for nursing access! With band sizes 28-46 and cup sizes A-H, you can get the custom fit that you have always dreamed of in a sports bra. You can see the full listing here.

Our testers did such an awesome job on this pattern, and I loved seeing how well this pattern worked for so many different bodies! The roundup is below. Also, stick around to the end, and see where our testers shopped for their supplies.

Racerback

“I love that I can make a scrap-busting, totally supportive sports bra in less time than it takes me to drive to the store, try one on, buy it and drive back home.” Mere Simmons

Eva Buchel

Kyrsten Sanders

"I loved how quick it was even with the binding on the keyhole. Super easy, super customizable and super cute!" Shannon Krause

"This pattern is epic! The designer is a genius! I am amazed how this sports bra looks so complicated but if you will sew it, ahh... easy peasy! I'm glad I don't need to buy a sports bra that will cost me $$$$ .. yaaaay!!" Gabz Jefferson

Amanda Savoie

"I loved how versatile each style is! You can truly customize each style to make funky, fun and super comfortable sports bras in any colour/print combo you could dream of!" Brit Kinahan

Linda Stilling

Sydney Wait

"I love how much support it has, all the super cute options, that it actually fits and is ridiculously comfortable. This will definitely be my go-to bra pattern!" Laura Brodeur

"I love that I can make this with a standard bra closure to make it easier to get on and off...that’s one of the biggest drawbacks to RTW sports bras!!" Brenda Schultz

Cathy Mehrl

"I sincerely appreciated the detailed instructions - the bra came together exactly as described and with no major, "huh?" moments. Clear, concise directions that work are every sewists dream! I also appreciate the range of sizes available - petite to busty - this pattern has you covered!" Min Sibley

Linda Gauthier

Buffie Jo

Strappy Back

"It’s hard to find a sports bra that fits my small cup and band size- and that’s nursing friendly! This bra can be made in a naptime and feels just as comfortable for every day wear as it does for sports!" Sarah Connell

"I don't fit into the s/m/l sports bra sizes! & Finally I don't have to choose between buying a sports bra with a band that fits for support in the underbust, but squishes the tatas, or a bra with no support because the band is loose, but the cups fit! So comfortable, and fits EVERYWHERE!!" Jolene Barry

" I love being able to make workout wear that looks like I purchased it from a high end company - and this is just another Greenstyle Pattern that does just that! Very well drafted and way faster to sew then go shopping!" Cara Scudner

"This pattern was so easy to follow and a dream to sew. Supportive and cute... can’t beat that!!!" Becky McGill-Wilkinson

"I love how easy it comes together! It’s got a lot of detail but each step is really well explained and comes together like a fabulous puzzle." Lauren Turnbull

"As a yoga fanatic, buying RTW Athletic clothing not only gets expensive, but it never fits as well as it should. I love that Greenstyle offers modern athletic wear with so many modifications that consistently fit perfectly on my body." Meagan Kotzur

"Being able to make a pretty, but also perfectly fitting sports bra, in exactly the color or print I want is absolutely priceless. I am blown away by not only how beautiful these look on everyone and how perfect the fit is, but also by how surprisingly easy it was to sew!" Jody Kappas

"It's such a stylish and supportive sports bra, I didn't even need to use bra cups! Who doesn't love the opportunity to personalize a bra to perfectly fit YOU, with multiple options in one pattern?" Debora VanHamlin

"This is the best sport bra that one can make from so many fabrics and options." Susi Schuegraf

Cassandra Maloney

Kelsey Shaw

Sydney Malahovsky

Emmanuelle Labonte

U Back

"As someone with a super small rib cage and not quite as small boobs, I always end up finding a RTW sports bra that fits in the band but I’m spilling out of, or one that fits me cup-wise but is super loose around my ribs. If I want something adjustable, I have spend a lot of money. It’s so awesome to be able to make my own high end looking bras custom made to my unique measurements!" Melanie Burns

"There are so many options! It’d totally be perfect for a swim top too!" Whitney Decker

"As a large-cupped, heavy-breasted woman it is so hard to find on-trend athletic wear that is supportive and comfortable. I know with GreenStyle Creations I can trust the drafting and easily make any adjustments needed for my body." Devon Christian

Cindy Dill

"I love the options and the ability to make a pretty, functional sports bra that I can't readily find in my cup size." Terri Hoops Tichenor

"I can't believe how fun and how FAST this pattern is to make! I'll be filling my closet with these- just in time for a New Year resolution to workout more!" Kayliegh Landon

Sarah Boses

Brandi Albert

Nursing Option

"I love that I can have a fun strappy bra that supports me so well AND that I can nurse in!" Sharon Aguilar

"I love how supportive it is and that I can make it nursing friendly!"

Jenn Williams

"Absolutely love that each of the options can be used to make so many fun and functional bras. This is by far the best nursing bra I have ever worn." Marran Cleary Poole

In the past year I’ve gone up three cup sizes due to pregnancy and nursing. I had such a difficult time finding a sports bra that fit. This bra is great - it’s comfortable, supportive and nursing friendly. There are so many options to create the perfect size and style." Tori Chapel

Adjustable Strap Option

"I really liked that it didn't take long at all to make multiple cute and functional bras. The number of options available means I can have some versatility in my workout bras but also know they're going to be supportive” Meghan Keder

  • Hi, one of your reviewers said “I love that I can make this with a standard bra closure to make it easier to get on and off” but I can’t find any information about it in this pattern that I purchased yesterday. It says something about the closure on the pattern piece for the band (“Cut here for 2” Elastic or if using a 3 hook bra hook”), but nowhere else? How would I go about attaching a bra closure to the band? It probably only works in the keyhole option? TIA! – Anna
