It is Time to Celebrate + Fit Capsule Challenge 2020

Posted by Sharon Aguilar on

Greenstyle Creations annual fit capsule challenge begins today!! It also just so happens that we have a reason to celebrate. The Greenstyle Creations Facebook group has just hit 30,000 members, and Greenstyle has 10,000 Instagram followers!! We have loads of sponsors, freebies, and fun planned, and this is the post you need to read to get all the details!

What is a Fit Capsule? A fit capsule is a capsule wardrobe for your activewear (or any clothing you use for staying fit). A "capsule wardrobe" is just a fancy way of saying that you have coordinated and versatile set of clothes in your closet and that you can get multiple outfits out of each piece. The focus is on selecting long-lasting pieces of clothing that you love, that match your lifestyle, and that you feel good in, and more importantly, they all mix and match well with each other.

To be eligible to win the grand prize, your fit capsule must contain at least 3 items made from only Greenstyle Patterns. The capsule does not have to be for you personally. You can sew a capsule for a loved one, significant other, friend, or co-worker. On the last week of the contest, you will want to take a photo (flat lays or modeled) of all the items you made. If they all do not fit into one photo, just make it into a collage so that you can enter it to win the grand prize, which includes fabric gift cards from some of our sponsors, a $100 gift card to Greenstyle Fabric, as well as a Juki Coverstitch!!

Not sure where to start? I have a planning worksheet that you can download for free HERE, and Dana Miller has FREE coloring sheets for you HERE

There are lots of ways you can go about planning your capsule wardrobe. I think a great place to start is by taking stock of what you have and making notes of what gaps you may need to fill in your closet. If you are new to sewing athletic clothes or just want to start over in your closet, start with a color scheme or a set of fabrics that inspire you, and go from there. The planning worksheet lists all of Greenstyle's athletic patterns, so mark it up, make notes, and sketch out a plan with the patterns that you know fit your lifestyle best.

Here are some wonderful capsule inspirations from last year's contest:

The Schedule

The Fit Capsule Challenge and 30K/10K Celebrations will run from February 10th through March 6th. Each week will follow the same schedule.

Every Monday a Greenstyle admin will post in the Greenstyle Creations Facebook group for the Fit Capsule Challenge. Monday's admin post will include a challenge or task for that week. To be entered to win that week's prizes, comment on that post showing that you fulfilled that weeks task. The post will stay open for comments throughout the week until that Sunday night at midnight. The first week's post will be from Sharon Aguilar. The second week will be from Alex Resch. The third week's post will be made by Dana Alexis Miller. The fourth and final week's post will be from Sharon Aguilar. That final post will be the post where you comment with a collage of your fit capsule.

You can also celebrate with us on Instagram if you do not have a Facebook account or want additional entries. To be entered on Instagram, please make a post using the hashtag #celebrateGS! Every Monday a post will be made with that week's challenge so that you know how to enter for that week!

Every Wednesday, Joelle Nichole will make a post in the Greenstyle Facebook group to help celebrate our milestone of reaching 30,000 members. Comment on her post to be entered to win that week's prize package! These posts will just be fun and interactive and will not require any fitness capsule sewing, if Fit Capsules are not for you :)
